30 Days of Buffy
Day 30:What you think made Buffy so great
Well…I figured I should maybe actually finish the 30 days of Buffy that took WAY longer than 30 days.
I loved the unconditional love that was subtly weaved in with each episode. Not the romantic kind of love, but the unconditional love of friends and family. It was also an amazing combination of drama, action, and hilarity. I love Buffyverse, which yes, I do talk in Buffyverse in my head and occasionally out loud to people. I like getting weird stares. I loved that Joss wasn’t afraid of killing off characters in order to further the plot because so many writers are so caught up in making sure that their fans are happy that they lose a lot of impact in their work. I also love that Buffy had the first long-term lesbian relationship on public television, and that it was in a positive light and they weren’t sexualized.
And finally, I love Tara. The reason for my blog and my obsession of Buffy. You get to see her break free from her shell and blossom into who she becomes in season 6. She has amazing interactions with Dawn and Anya who are both seen as ‘outcasts’ of the group and get a lot of bashing. And her back is *makes nummy noises* because I got to see it in Attack of the Gryphon. *melts*
