And then she - Amber Benson - appeared, and made up our minds for us. We had the idea of introducing the character of Tara, the very shy girl who falls for Willow. Fairly early on we had the idea that college is the sort of place where people expand or explore their sexuality, and the idea of somebody who thought Willow was great was interesting to us. Day 18: Character Who Didn’t Get Enough Screen Time: Tara Maclay

Well of course Tara didn’t get enough screen time! I felt like we never learned enough about her. I mean, what was her major, did she have a job, did she hang out with anyone that wasn’t a scooby? We know next to nothing about her past, just that her mom died when she was 17 and she was raised to believe she was part demon. In the first 30 episodes she’s in, she’s only got about 2 hours, 40 minutes and 9 seconds of screen time. This is one of the reasons why I read Tara/Willow fanfiction.

Oh and sorry I keep reposting gifs. I only have so many and since I’m so jam packed with stuff this semester, which includes learning all the OMWF songs on the piano for the performance. Unfortunately screencapping and gif making goes on the back-burner.

Day 9: Favourite Romance: Tillow (Tara and Willow)

Well I figure you all know that this is my favourite, because how could it not be? The two of them are so amazing together. The way they look at each other and interact is amazing. Watching Hush, it looks like they belong together when they join hands to move the vending machine, and to think that it wasn’t even planned to have them as a couple at the time just amazes me. As the seasons went on, I started to like Willow less and less, and she went to my favourite character in the first three seasons, to a character that I wasn’t too fond of. The reason that I finally gave her some leniency was by listening to Joss Whedon’s commentary and reading Willow/Tara fanfiction and remembered what Willow was like when she was my favourite. And even if Willow isn’t in my top five favourite characters, I still love her relationship with Tara, and want so much to be in a relationship like theirs.

Honourable Mention: Xander/Anya. I think the two of them belong together. I think that on the surface it seemed like it was all about sex, but I knew they really cared about each other. The two of them were so completely silly and adorable. I hate how the seventh season ended, and that Anya was killed off just because Emma didn’t want to go another season, and Joss planned to kill someone off. It was an easy way out and it was so quick that I missed it even though I watched that part over and over and over til I looked up the specific scene on youtube.
