Day 18: Character Who Didn’t Get Enough Screen Time: Tara Maclay

Well of course Tara didn’t get enough screen time! I felt like we never learned enough about her. I mean, what was her major, did she have a job, did she hang out with anyone that wasn’t a scooby? We know next to nothing about her past, just that her mom died when she was 17 and she was raised to believe she was part demon. In the first 30 episodes she’s in, she’s only got about 2 hours, 40 minutes and 9 seconds of screen time. This is one of the reasons why I read Tara/Willow fanfiction.

Oh and sorry I keep reposting gifs. I only have so many and since I’m so jam packed with stuff this semester, which includes learning all the OMWF songs on the piano for the performance. Unfortunately screencapping and gif making goes on the back-burner.

Day 4: Favourite Female Character

Lol. This just makes me giggle. I hope you ALL know this by now, considering my ENTIRE blog is based on her. Tara is amazing. She feels like such an outsider to the group and eventually is told that she is a part of the family. I love how kind she is, caring, I love how much of a beautiful person she is on the inside. I love how you see her mistakes and that she’s not perfect. And her devotion and love for Willow astounds me, the way she looks at Willow. How she becomes the moral center of the group, and how she is the one the Scoobies go to for comfort because they know she’s not going to judge them.

Now the problem is choosing from the hundreds of gifs of her I have. Oh but…if anyone wanted to know my 2nd favourite female character, it’s Anya and 3rd is Faith.

Sorry it took so long everyone! Life interrupted like it likes to do so it took longer than expected, but hopefully I’ll get the gifs from Checkpoint done faster so we can all enjoy gay-lesbian-type lovers.

Buffy grabbing Tara’s hand is just too adorable to pass up. Even if they’re in a panic cause Anya and Willow are gone. 

Buffy, something’s been here and Willow’s gone.

Tara’s concern for Willow just makes me love her that much more.

Tara: I guess we could. She might still be at the magic shop. I was there earlier, and she and Anya kinda got in this little squabble … Xander and I sort of cleared out, he was pretty upset. 
Buffy: Anya and, and Xander are in trouble?

 

Tara: Oh! No, I-I said that all wrong. It was nothing. Willow and Anya were sort of fighting, and then Xander kind of snapped at both of them and he left. 

Buffy: He left? Xander left Anya? 

Tara: Ummm … no, not “left her” left her, he just left. It was only a little thing, it-

Buffy: Little thing? See, the thing is, the … little things get bigger, you know, and, and, and, and, if you don’t catch the little thing and then, boom! You have this, this, this whole huge thing! 

Tara: Oh dear.

Buffy: Not, not, not them with the little things! They can’t break up!

Tara: Oh, I think-

Buffy: They have a beautiful love. 
Tara: I think they’ll be fine.

Buffy: They have a miraculous love! 
Tara: What? 

Buffy: A miraculous love!

I love seeing Tara have conversations with people other than Willow.  Makes me happy they show her as her own being, not just someone attached to a main character.
